If you release an application or game and expect to be paid for it, you should make sure you have some sort of system for this, instead of relying on trust alone. Obsidium Lite can help you protect 32 and 64-bit software applications from reverse engineering and piracy. If your product requires a license, this program can implement a system for distributing and using license keys for unlocking that product.

Obsidium Lite is free to try, without any significant functionality restrictions. It comes in a small package and its components can be installed in no time. The software is compatible with all popular Windows versions and it doesn't require any special tools or drivers.

There are many interesting options Obsidium Lite has to offer. You basically have to import executable and other resources and make a series of tweaks, depending on how you want to protect them. You can set the program to compress and encrypt your resources, perform debug checks, set environment variables and much more.

The software places several possibilities in front of you when it comes to licensing. You can use a keyfile and set its location in the application directory, for the current user or all of them or you can set its location in the Registry. If you want to allow a trial period, you can make your product expire on a specific date, after a number of days, a number of runs or according to user-defined counters. Setting up nag screens is another possibility. It is even possible to edit custom messages for trial expiration, errors and other events.

In terms of key management, Obsidium Lite lets you implement an external licensing system or an internal one, which involves generating and verifying keys, with or without expiration dates. To make things even easier, the software lets you manage customers as well. You can add names, company names, emails and personal notes in a database and assign licenses to each individual.

Obsidium Lite has everything you need to distributed and protect your software products against piracy.

Pros:
You can encrypt your software products and manage a licensing system. The software's controls are well organized and easy to find, which makes it quite easy to use.

Cons:
There are no obvious drawbacks to address.
